Cecilia Yu

Cecilia Yu went to St. Anne’s-Belfield School in Charlottesville, Virginia. As a student filmmaker, JESS was the first film she wrote, acted in, and directed. Prior to this, Cecilia participated in her high school theatre productions such as The Outsiders and served as the assistant director for her school’s recent fall play, Little Women. While taking a gap year in 2021-2022, Cecilia completed internships as an assistant to both play and film directors in Beijing, China. These experiences not only allowed her to learn and gain experience from working with industry professionals, but also inspired her to make her own short film.
