Liang-Yu Chen

Liang‑Yu Chen is a Taiwanese filmmaker, writer, and artist whose work draws deeply from ecology, identity, and environmental justice. As both scenarist‑director of 1 2 3 Red Light, Green Light, Chen weaves together folklore, nature imagery, and contemporary urgency to explore our relationship with the land, heritage, and ecological loss. Presented in Competition at the Y-CAM Film Festival in 2025, the film is part of Chen’s broader ecological art series, which aligns with the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and demonstrates Chen’s commitment to animation as a medium of care, witness, and cultural memory.
