An Indian-Muslim housewife is pregnant and asked by her husband to abort the baby girl. To protect her child, she flees to America. Seventeen years later, she finds out that her daughter is pregnant.

Yilin Yin

Yilin Yin is an emerging filmmaker who graduated in Film and Television Production at the prestigious New York University. He is known for writing and directing the short film Amma, which premiered at the Y-CAM Film Festival in 2017. The film was recognized for its emotional depth and social relevance, showcasing Yin’s early interest in stories centered on women’s resilience and cultural identity.

He also produced the films Mother Tongue (dir. Eris Qian, 2020) and 17 (dir. Weihao Fan). Recently he was the first assistant director for the film Sheila (by Alex Wiske, 2018).
