Janshin Soo

Janshin Soo, 16 years old, is a Malaysian-Chinese filmmaker recognized for his cinematography and dramatic film scores. He approaches filmmaking with meticulous attention to detail - blending visual storytelling with his deep understanding of music to emphasize strong emotions. Early in his childhood, he began cultivating his passion for cinematography and music production - which later evolved into a keen interest in filmmaking. While pursuing film-related studies at ISKL, his work has been featured in several award-winning short films, including “Pages of Promise”, “Naive”, “The Watchman”, "Drafting", and now "Finding Rhythm". His work on film scores and film production captures the essence of his many inspirations as a filmmaker, the most prominent of which are Hans Zimmer, Christopher Nolan, and Quentin Tarantino. He remains interested in filmmaking and is currently striving to pursue a higher education in film and music in the U.S.
